Schools Gardening Project

MOSELEY in BLOOM wants to encourage pupils, teachers, parents and parent-governors to work together to create, transform and sustain ‘greening’ projects on your school sites.

Consequently in 2018 MiB launched a new initiative to develop partnerships with local primary schools. We funded four exciting projects, and now coming to fruition are: a lovely willow dome, a new wildlife corner, a peace garden, and a sights/scents garden. Staff and pupils worked together to develop their schools sites and are proud of their amazing accomplishments.

Now into the third year of the scheme, we are looking to fund further projects for the 2020-21 academic year, that will inspire and support pupils to develop gardening skills, and encourage them to understand their role in the quality and sustainability of their environment.

So, is there some unloved patch of ground that you could bring into fruit or flower? Can you make some raised beds to fill with great colours and scents? Are there corners of schoolyard where birds can bathe and butterflies can alight?

MOSELEY in BLOOM is encouraging you to imagine a project, and we want to help you bring it to life. We are inviting all primary schools with a B13 postcode to submit an application for up to £500 so that your thriving green space idea becomes a reality. Schools that have previously received a grant from MiB can apply again.
