Moseley in Bloom Autumn Bulb Planting 2008 Update

Thank you to the volunteers who helped out Moseley in Bloom on Sunday November 16th to help out with the annual Bulb Planting. Particular thanks go to the staff at The Elizabeth of York for providing much needed tea, coffee and vital fuel on this crisp autumn day along with a volunteer to help out.

Areas covered were the Moseley Pay and Display Car Park, the Oak Tree bed outside Boots Pharmacy and The Park Entrance.

Around 1000 generic daffodil bulbs were planted; some Species Narcissi were selected for the smaller planting areas and provide additional interest. These include:

• Pheasant’s Eye
• Baby Moon
• Sealing wax
• Sun Disc
• Sugarbush
• Chiva
• Chromacolor

Along with the bulb planting, a clean up operation of the Moseley Village Green also took place. Inspired by the pupils at King David’s School an area was set aside as a hibernation hotel to encourage mini beasts and to help support the bird population of Moseley.

Thank you to everyone who turned out on this day. Your help will make Moseley look vibrant as the area leaps into spring.
